Atwoli urged leaders across the political divide to ensure that Babu Owino is not thrown out of parliament given his legal woes.

He made a particular request to the Governor of Nairobi Mike Sonko to reach out to the president.

''I want to appeal... Hon. Babu Owino is a young legislator. I want to appeal to senior legislators who are here. Please, don't allow this young man be thrown out of parliament while you are watching. Governor of Nairobi Sonko, this is your own younger brother, do what Sakaja did. Reach out to the President, and the rest. Even if he erred, let him be forgiven and allowed to finish his term,'' Atwoli pleaded.

Atwoli spoke on Tuesday during Labour Day celebrations in Nairobi that were graced by leaders from across the political spectrum.

Atwoli's words come in the context of Babu Owino's legal troubles that threaten his political prospects.

Babu Owino found himself in trouble last year when he launched into an expletive-laden tirade against President Uhuru Kenyatta.
