Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has accused Jubilee government and his political rival Francis Mureithi for being behind his arrest.
The first-time lawmaker was arrested on Friday at Parliament Buildings for allegedly planning to overthrow President Uhuru Kenyatta's government. He was then transferred to Parklands Police Station where he is currently detained.
He took to his Facebook page revealing his arrest.
But in yet another tweet, the MP claims that the Jubilee Government had conspired with Mr. Mureithi and parklands DCIO to have him arrested in what he believes is a political witch hunt.
"My arrest is as a result of deep conspiracy involving Jubilee government, Mr Francis Mureithi and DCIO Parklands Mr Kamwende on realisation that we are going to win a petition against my victory on 8/8/2017," he posted on his Twitter handle.
The arrest of the youthful lawmaker comes just days after a video went viral on social media showing a man claimed to be Owino and his bodyguards roughing up a parking attendant.
This is the second time that the legislator has been arrested in as many months. He was first arrested in September over ' mtoto wa mbwa' comment which was allegedly directed at President Uhuru Kenyatta.
