Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili, alias Babu Owino, has condemned his arrest over alleged incitement remarks.

The first time controversial MP was on Monday arrested by police officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

The ODM lawmaker was detained at the Pangani Police Station a day after he made derogatory remarks allegedly targeting President Uhuru Kenyatta during an opposition rally in Kawangware, Nairboi on Sunday.

Speaking on Tuesday morning, Owino said the police were being influenced by their masters to harass him.

“How does my sentiments amount to incitement to violence?Police should stop acting under duress and undue influence to please their masters,” he posted on Twitter.

The MP earlier said he will not apologise over his statement.

“I will not apologise to anyone because I called nobody’s name during my yesterday’s address. We have so many presidents in Kenya, from the President of Sonu (University of Nairobi student union), to all presidents of student unions in Kenya. President of the Supreme Court, President of the Youth Senate and many more,” he posted on Facebook, Monday.

Owino is expected to be arraigned in court today.
