Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has condemned the arrest of NASA's head of policy team David Ndii.
Ndii, a global economist, was on Sunday night arrested by officers drawn from the Flying Squad and the Special Crime Prevention Unit at the Leopard Beach area of Diani in the South Coast.
Reacting to the arrest, Owino demanded that the economist be released immediately
"We demand the immediate release of comrade David Ndii who has been taken to Diani Police Station from Leopard Beach Hotel in Kwale because of his appointment to steer People's Assembly," the ODM MP posted on Twitter.
Opposition leader Raila Odinga's last born daughter, Winnie Odinga, was arrested alongside Ndii’s Wife Mwende Ndii in Diani.
Winnie and Mwende had gone to Diani Police Station to complain about the arrest of Ndii who had earlier been picked by police from Leopard Beach Hotel in Kwale.
The two were later released by the police.
