Embakasi Eask MP Babu Owino could be jailed for seven years if found guilty of the charges against him.
Owino was charged for subversion.
He is said to have threatened to effect a forceful eviction of President Uhuru Kenyatta from power, likening the removal to what happened to leaders in Libya and other African countries.
"Kama Gaddafi alitolewa na wananchi, kama Yahya Jammeh alitolewa na wananchi, wewe ni nani? Wewe ni mtoto wa mbwa," the charge sheet quotes Babu as saying during the weekend NASA rally at Kawangware.
This closely translates as: "If Gaddafi was removed from power by citizens, if Yahya Jammeh was removed from power by citizens, who are you? You are child to a dog."
