Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has been relieved after the Court of Appeal upheld his August 8, 2017 election win, after being nullified by the High Court’s Justice Joseph Sergon who on grounds of massive electoral malpractices.

The High Court’s Justice Joseph Sergon during his ruling stated that Mr Mureithi had not proven the whole election exercise was ruined by violence, intimidation, and other electoral malpractices.

A happy Babu Owino was welcomed outside the court with song and dance from his supporters. He assured his supporters and all the people of Embakasi East that he would serve them as promised. 

A reenergized Babu Owino however, had a message for his opponents, especially Jubilee’s Francis Mureithi. He argued them to join hands and work for the good of the people. 

“I would like to tell my opponents to wake up and move on. I also invite them to come and help me serve the people of Embakasi,” said a happy Owino.

“There is a time to lead and a time to be led,” he continued. “My opponents should respect those in power now so that when their time comes they can be respected too,” he said.
