Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has asked Kenyans to remember the families of the opposition supporters who lost their lives in pre and post election chaos.
Through a tweet on Tuesday, the MP urged Kenyans not to forget justice for the families of the slain NASA supporters who he referred to as 'Martyr'. He urged Kenyans to speak up and fight for them on matters pertaining justice.
Babu urged his fellow members of parliament to help push for an allocation from the "restorative justice fund / victims compensation fund this year to their families..."
"Let's not forget justice for the families of these NASA martyr.Let us speak up for them and fight for them. Even in parliament we must push an allocation from the *restorative justice fund / victims compensation fund* this year to their families. God bless Kenya," read Babu's tweet on Tuesday.
The opposition supporters were killed during pre and post election confrontations with the police following the political rivalry that was by then enormous between the Jubilee party and the NASA coalition especially after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) declared Uhuru Kenyatta the winner of the August 8 2017 general elections contrary to the expectations of NASA.
