Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has told National Resistance Movement (NRM) leader Dr Miguna Miguna to cut down his abuses towards President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition chief Raila Odinga after 'landing' the plum Nairobi Deputy governor position.
Babu in a tweet said on Thursday that it his prayer the NRM leader will take his advice and tone down his rhetoric directed at the country's top leadership.
He said the position dictates that he speaks like a leader since he is now a public servant.
"Congratulations. Miguna Miguna should now stop his social media onslaught on everybody and serve Nairobians," Babu said.
Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko was on Wednesday said to have appointed Miguna as his new deputy following the resignation of Polycarp Igathe after the two disagreed on the county's management style.
But the nomination has caused a storm within the political circles.
Whereas some leaders, especially those in the opposition have welcomed the appointment, those in Jubilee including Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja have termed it a joke as Miguna won't occupy the deputy governor office.
They claim Miguna is not a Kenyan and should apply for citizenship afresh before he can take up his new role.
"Miguna will not become the Deputy Governor of Nairobi. Take that to the bank," Sakaja said on Thursday.
