The baby boy was on Friday rescued by a night watchman who was passing near a posho mill.

“I was passing by when I saw a baby bag outside the shop and decided to go and check what was inside," said Andrew Omonde.

"It is not in order to find such a bag in a such a place at wee hours without any person being in charge.”

Area chief Antony Maina confirmed the incident, saying that the baby might have been dumped there at night.

“The little boy was rescued by a night guard who was returning home from work at 6am," the chief said.

"The guard alerted the shop owner who lives behind the building and they later called me for directives,” said Maina.

Maina said that they have already reported the matter at Bahati police station and asked residents to give any information that would help in identifying the boy’s mother.

“If anybody knows a mother who had delivered a baby boy recently and now she doesn’t have the baby then they should let us know so that we can question her,” said the chief.
