[Photo/tuko.co.ke]The parents of Baby Pendo, Joseph Obanja and Lensa Achieng, have spoken to Aljazeera weeks after their six-month daughter succumbed to a severe head injury occasioned by a police baton.Their voices shaded with deep sorrow, the two narrated the grim events leading up to the death of their daughter.''I shouted on top of my voice, telling them that I had kids in the house but they would not listen,'' Joseph Obanja says.His wife Lensa Achieng' told Anne Soy, Aljazeera's correspondent, that she wil never vote again.''That day I went with Pendo, I voted and came back early. I didn't know that that vote would cause me pain. Why should I vote? There's no need for me to vote. Each time there's an election, I will remember that my child died,'' a deeply-saddened Lensa Achieng' said.The two parents said that they will not give up on their determination to ensure that their beloved daughter gets justice.Baby Pendo was among an estimated 30 people who lost their lives in the aftermath of a disputed presidential election that saw opposition supporters engage in deadly violence with law enforcement officers.
