A video is doing rounds on social media of Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko gifting his adopted son a brand new car worth Sh5 million which has surprised Garissa residents.
In the video posted by Sonko’s wife Primrose, the governor gifted his adopted son, Satrine Osinya with a brand new Mercedes Benz.
Satrine who was turning 6 was driven into the compound in style as he sat on the passenger’s seat in his new black sleek convertible.
Here are some reactions from residents in Garissa whose minds were blown away:
“If you have the money, why not spend it. He is spending it on his family which is a good thing and not wasting it out here with other people,” said Hussein Ibrahim.
“This is too much, the boy is only six years old. What will he do with a car at his age, I think Sonko should have just bought him a toy car and not a real car,” Salima Mwamedi said.
“That is spoiling a child, some things should be given when someone is older and mature. He should limit what he can give and what he cannot give to the children,” said Rehema Aisha.
Sonko adopted baby Osinya together with his big brother, Gift Osinya, after their mother died in the Mombasa church March 2014 terror attack.
The two children were at the Joy in Jesus Church in Likoni when gunmen shot indiscriminately at worshipers killing four people among them their mother Veronica Osinya who was shot as she protected Satrine and his brother.
Satrine was rushed to the hospital after a bullet was lodged in his head following the attack at the church.
