Suba South MP John Mbadi has urged his political rival Caroli Omondi to back his parliamentary bid ahead of the August polls.

In an address to the media on Wednesday, the ODM Party National Chair noted that he was ready to work with Omondi in the interest of the constituents.

"There is no need for a continuous political rivalry. I'm ready to bury the hatchet for the sake of peace and development to our people," Mbadi said.

"I appeal he supports my bid this time round since he'll need mine next time if he becomes an MP," he added.

Mbadi is seeking a third term as Member of Parliament.

Mbadi further urged his opponents to support ODM Party during the forthcoming general elections, discouraging them against vying as Independent candidates.

"I urge my opponents to continue supporting ODM for the August 8 poll. I don't expect him [Omondi] to compete with me as an independent candidate if he faithfully withdrew from the nomination," he said.
