It was a bad weekend for major Kisumu based teams participating in different Football Kenya Federations (FKF) run leagues.

FKF division 1 zone B side Kisumu Hot Stars, Kenya Women Premier league (KWPL) side Kisumu All Starlets; and Kisumu All Stars and Western Stima taking part in the National Super League (NSL) all lost their weekend matches to visiting teams.

On Saturday, Hot Stars lost 1-3 to Poror Mote FC; Starlets were thumped 1-7 by WPL leaders Thika Queens, while All Stars went down 0-2 against Nairobi City Stars.

On Sunday, NSL leaders Western Stima lost 0-1 against visiting Nairobi Stima. All the four matches were played at the Kisumu’s Moi Stadium.

It was the first matches for Hot Stars, All Stars and Stima to lose at the Moi Stadium this season. Following the results, Western Stima remains top of the NSL table with 35 points after 17 matches; five points ahead of second-placed KCB. The bankers have a game in hand.

Kisumu All Stars is now 9th on the log with 25 points after 16 matches. 

The team has lost two consecutive matches to move further down the table. Kisumu All Starlets is 12th on the sixteen-team KWPL table.
