It is now official that Kisumu based side Palos FC will not be taking part in the National Super League starting next year, due to financial constraints.

The Club’s chairman Patrick Imbuga says that they have been hit hard financially, making it difficult for them to operate.

“It has been hard financially and there is not much we can do. We will honor our final match of the season (against Isebania FC) but after that we will fold,” Imbuga is quoted by Soka.co.ke

The move provides further bad news to football fans in Kisumu, following the relegation of Kisumu based sides Western Stima and Muhoroni Youth from the Kenya Premier League (KPL) last weekend.

Recently, Palos FC wrote to the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) indicating unwillingness to participate in NSL next year due to financial troubles.

FKF Chief Executive Officer Robert Muthomi confirmed receiving Palos’ request but indicated the federation would not expedite the move to strike the team off the NSL calendar to provide room for new sponsors to come on board.

Palos FC is a product of the Makini sports academy formed in 2012. The club has been receiving sponsorship from Makini School.
