Twalib garnered 17, 058 votes to beat his closest rival Karisa Nzai of Jubilee who got 14, 914 votes.

Speaking shortly after receiving his certificate from Jomvu constituency returning officer Nuru Faraj, Twalib lauded residents for turning up in large numbers to vote for him.

“I thank Jomvu for speaking loud against the oppression of Jubilee, which has made the economy poor and caused youth to lose the jobs they had through retrenchment," said Twalib, as quoted by The Star.

The MP elect promised to tackle the issue of unemployment in the area, adding that he will create 10,000 jobs for youth.

He further pledged to complete all the projects he had initiated, to ensure residents in the constituency enjoy equal opportunities.
