Milne Wanjiku Kariuki returned to her land following intervention from Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri and area leaders.

Wanjiku was evicted last week when a group of people purporting to have bought the land demolished her house and also threw her out of the compound.

Bahati CDF built her a temporary iron-sheet house, as Antony Njui, the CDF chairman said they reached out to help the widowed granny as she had nowhere to go to.

“We reached out to her because she did not have any other place to go to and with her land having been sold off illegally, it was quite traumatising for her,” he said on Wednesday.

Wanjiku’s son, a pastor, is reported to have used fake documents to sell off the parcel of land which houses her mother who old age has taken a toll on her.

Ngunjiri assured the granny of justice and security.

Youths from the area have stood guard around the farm to ensure no intruder hurts the old granny.
