Bahati Constituency Development Fund (CDF) chairman Anthony Njui has said that no child should stay home when schools reopen in January due to lack of school fees.
Speaking to this writer on Monday, Njui said the door is open for everyone who wants to apply for bursary.
"Over 220 youths from needy families successfully completed a nine months vocational training program courtesy of Bahati constituency development fund," he said.
According to him, those who benefited from courses in hairdressing, beauty therapy, catering and cosmetology are poor youths living with disabilities and young women who are recovering gender based violence victims.
“It is wrong for people to paint CDF officers in bad light, we do not discriminate as is being reported. The process is usually free and fair,” he insisted.
James Mbugua, who is living with a physical disability and a beneficiary of the program commended the Bahati CDF and the Rift Valley Institute of Business Studies for reaching out to the youth and women prone to poverty, saying skills he has acquired courtesy of the noble program will help him become self reliant and create jobs for others.
