A Nakuru based police boss is on the receiving end after local politicians accused him of abetting the sale of illicit brews.
Nakuru woman representative Mary Mbugua was the first to fault Bahati OCPD Dancun Nguthu over what she termed as laxity of the officer to tame the vice which has since claimed the life of a man in the area.
Two days later on Wednesday, Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri led a spirited onslaught on the local security apparatus in the area and warned Mr Nguthu to either pull up his socks or leave the area.
Ngunjiri who spoke at Engoshura farm during the burial of Charles Macharia who died after allegedly consuming poisoned alcohol, said the local administration was working in cahoots with illicit brew traders by aiding them to avoid arrests.
He added that the brews originate from the estates in Nakuru town from where they are sneaked into Bahati and warned local chiefs that they would soon be held to account over the situation.
However, Mr Nguthu was unreachable for comment as his mobile phone was off and he did not reply to a message sent to him.
