High flying gospel musician Bahati was on Sunday, attacked and robbed of valuables in Mathare slums while shooting a music video just a day after performing at Kasarani during the launch of the new Jubilee party.
According to Tuko, Bahati was in the Vietnam area of the sprawling Mathare slums when angry residents mobbed him and the musician lost his phone and shoes during the commotion.
Bahati is said to have been in the company of a white man who was shooting the video when a group of angry residents approached him accusing him of using the slum to make money.
“Watu walimwambia anatumia Mathare kujijenga na harudishi kitu,” an eye witness said to Tuko
The Mama hit maker was then forced to leave the area as youths threatened to beat him up if he stayed.
