Traders from Bahati Constituency Nakuru County demonstrated along the Nakuru –Nyahururu road on Wednesday over what they termed as high levies been charged them by the county government.
Traders from Karunga ,Maili Tisa and Maili Kumi paralysed businesses activities along the busy road for the better part of the day .
They accused the county government for unnecessary charges being charged for their businesses.
“The county charge us for wall branding ,sing writing and placing adverts to our shops”,said Ester Muthoni ,a shopkeeper at Maili Tisa.
“Soon we may be forced to close our businesses because our profits are eaten by the levies”, added Muthoni.
The trades said that the high levies were meant to derail their businesses activities.
The residents urged the county government to implement policies that make it easier tor them to carry out their businesses without struggle .
Bahati MP has reportedly been telling the traders to defy the levies as “,they don’t boost businesses and are intended to scare investors
