Bahati Member of Parliment, Kimani Ngunjiri, has warned youths against indulging in drug abuse.
Ngunjiri said that drug abuse is among top challenges facing the young generation.
Speaking at Bahati shopping center on Monday, the lawmaker said that drug abuse is rife in estates and villages.
“Drug and substance abuse is a threat to the wellbeing of our young people,” said Ngunjiri.
The MP asked the Nakuru County Government to intervene and sensitize the youth on effects of drug abuse.
Ngunjiri noted that there is need to carry out campaigns sensitizing the youths especially in schools and colleges on the effects of drug abuse.
He said the problem is rampant in schools and asked National Authority Against Drug Abuse (NACADA) to come up with appropriate measures to curb it.
At the same time Ngunjiri urged youths to take the responsibility of preaching peace and tolerance.
He said unity and tolerance is needed for the constituency to register socio-economic development.
