Mwangi said that if the youth can embrace new methods of farming such as greenhouse farming, cattle keeping and rabbit rearing, crime in the area could lower to zero.

Speaking to journalists in Nakuru on Wednesday, MCA said he has approached several youths who have already started farming as a way of making a living as well as fighting idleness.

"We have some youths who have formed farming groups which we are nurturing and request even more to come up and have a farming business mind so as to earn a living,” said Mwangi.

He further challenged the youth to start practicing farming at a tender age, saying this will put them on the right track after some time.

For the past years, milk farmers in Bahati have been struggling for the product market, but all is well now in the area, with the poor road system having been upgraded to all weather roads by the county government.

Mwangi has further requested Bahati residents to take advantage of the newly built milk plant cooler at Karunga, which is even experiencing low supply as the demand to the processor is high.

"The milk plant operates level one and level two as per now which involves collecting, testing and selling to processors. The plant is falling short of the product and we urge the youth to take advantage of being shareholders of the plant," says Mwangi.
