Limuru OCPD Mohammed Bakuli has asked bodaboda operators to adhere to traffic regulations in bid to curb rising accidents.

Addressing bodaboda riders at Limuru town on Wednesday, Bakuli said warned that rogue operators who flout traffic rules will not be tolerated.

The OCPD noted a tendency by a section of bodaboda riders to ignore simple traffic regulations.

“We are not going to tolerate rogue bodaboda riders who think they can flout traffic rules and walk away free,” he warned.

Bakuli said that bodaboda riders just like other roads are supposed to adhere to the road regulations.

He observed that cases of accidents involving bodaboda riders had gone up adding that operators who fail to adhere to the rules will be rooted out.

The OCPD said that a crackdown on rogue bodaboda riders will be launched soon.

He said that with the December festivities around the corner it will be necessary to ensure safety of all road users.

Bakuli has asked bodaboda riders to go refresher courses to get more skills.

He said that some of the bodaboda operators lack enough riding skills a move that has led to rise in accidents.
