Tourism Cabinet Secretary (CS) Najib Balala has said that there is no need for dialogue between Jubilee and National Super Alliance (NASA) because the country has a legitimately elected head of state.
Speaking on Friday at Lake Ol bolossat area in Nyandarua during an event to celebrate World Wetlands Day, Balala said that accepting dialogue means President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto would have recognized the swearing in of Former Prime Minister, Raila Amolo Odinga, who took a fourth stab at the nation’s top seat in August elections.
"Don’t tell us to dialogue. Dialogue entails accepting that a head of state was sworn-in on November 28 and the only person who can swear him in is the Chief Justice," he stated.
Balala also blamed the media for covering opposition’s events, saying that they were fueling plans to burn the country. He further reminded the opposition against lecturing President Uhuru’s side on law related matters.
"The opposition should not lecture the government on matters law because the government is well-versed with what the constitution and the rule of law are all about," he remarked.
