Tourism Cabinet Secretary (CS) Najib Balala has pledged to lobby for the renovation of Mama Ngina Girls High School. 

Addressing staff and students when he visited KCSE candidates at the school on Tuesday, Balala said he will push for the revamping of the institution to ensure that it is at par with other national schools across country. 

The CS also said that he is proud to be associated with the institution of learning, which was upgraded from a provincial to a national school during the reign of former President Mwai Kibaki. 

The CS also assured the students and staff that the government will support them in undertaking various projects.“We are very proud of Mama Ngina Girls High School and we want to support it. I am going to lobby for this school to be rebuilt,” said Balala, as quoted by Baraka FM.Balala also donated Sh100,000 to facilitate a lunch programme for candidates sitting their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.The exams kicked off on Monday countrywide.The CS was accompanied by Mombasa County Commissioner Evans Achoki.
