Garissa Balambala Member of Parliament (MP) Abdikadir Aden has received a direct nomination ticket from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
Aden was among the 850 candidates who were handed direct nomination tickets ahead of the August General Election.
Aden, during the campaigns had said he will not give up his political ambitions and step aside as part of the community’s negotiated democracy after he was not endorsed by the elders to contest in the Balambala constituency during this year’s polls.
In the event that was presided over by party leader Raila Odinga, aspirants who were unopposed by the closure of the deadline of return of nominations paper were given direct nomination tickets.
Among the beneficiaries of the nominations include Governors; Hassan Joho (Mombasa), Ahmed Abdullahi (Wajir), Wycliffe Oparanya (Kakamega), Josephat Nanok (Turkana), Amason Kingi (Kilifi), Evans Kidero (Nairobi), Joseph Nkedianye (Kajiado), James Ongwae (Kisii).
Raila warned the aspirants who received party tickets against engaging in violent campaigns saying they will be automatically disqualified
“What we must all focus on is to remove Jubilee out of power and put Kenya back on its track,” said Raila.
