Bandari assistant coach George Owoko has hailed his team’s progress after recording a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Mathare United, a match that was played at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos. The only goal of the match was scored by midfielder Anthony Wambani in the first half to ensure the Dockers return to winning ways after a three-match win less streak.Speaking after the match, Owoko noted that the match gave the young players the morale they need to face opponents.“The thing that matters most is the three points despite not a well-rounded game. The players are still a young unit and we are still molding them and with time, they will pick up. Getting away points is very important for the young ones because it gives them morale,” said Owoko as quoted by Futaa.com.Despite moving to fourth on the log after the win, the Dockers slipped back to sixth after other matches of the KPL match week 9.Bandari face KPL newbies Nzoia United in their next match on Wednesday, May 10.
