Bandari FC coach Paul Nkata has finally broken his silence after an embarrassing defeat at the hands of Sony Sugar that saw them exit the GOtv Shield tournament.
The erratic Dockers who were the pre-match favourites fell to a shock 3-1 defeat in a match played on Saturday at the Nyayo National Stadium.Speaking after the match, the former Tusker FC coach blamed match unfitness for the defeat, Nkata adding that his charges had not trained for one week."I think we were not ready for the game. We did not train much because of the Kenya politics and it affected us. Sony Sugar played well and they deserved to win,” said Nkata.According to Nkata, their focus now shifts to the Kenya Premier League (KPL) where they are keen to finish in the top five at the end of the season. The match saw Felly Mulumba concede two penalties to give the Sugar Millers an edge over Bandari who were expecting to replicate their 2015 exploits in 2017.
