Bandari FC found the going tough after falling 2-1 to Gor Mahia in a Kenya Premier League match played at the Mbaraki Sports club, Mombasa on Wednesday.Innocent Wafula who was making his first start for Gor Mahia this season gave the visitors the lead after just 12 minutes of play as he converted Geoffrey Walusimbi's cross. The hosts responded by throwing the men forward and Dan Sserunkuma nearly punished his former employers but Gor Mahia custodian Boniface Oluoch responded quickly to clear the ball and forced the game to go into the break with the visitors enjoying a 1-0 lead.On resumption, the Paul Nkata-coached side continued to attack and it paid off on the 54th minute after Musa Mohamed tripped Shaban Kenga inside the box before veteran Noah Abich stepped up to convert from the spot to restore parity.Four minutes after the hour mark, Gor Mahia restored their lead with the outstanding Walusimbi converting substitute Oliver Maloba's cross.Any late attempt by the Dockers to rally from behind to salvage a point was futile as the concrete Gor Mahia defense stood firm.Following the win, Gor Mahia moved second on the log with Bandari who have now lost two matches in a row coming a distant seventh. They will take on resurgent Sofapaka in their next match.
