As the country prepares to host the Cecafa senior challenge tourney set for December 3, concerns have been raised over team selection. Bandari FC players have failed to make it to the 25-man squad announced on Wednesday by Harambee Stars’ technical bench for the bonanza.Notable absentees from the Dockers include lanky forward Edwin Lavatsa as well as the diminutive centre-forward Darius Msagha. This is the first time the Mombasa-based side has failed to have any representative at the national scene in recent times having produced goalkeeper Wilson Obungu, playmaker Shaban Kenga and even midfield maestro Rama Salim.Obungu is however sidelined by an injury. However, Bandari head coach Paul Nkatah recently expressed concerns over his blunt forwards, saying lack of better strikers coupled with injuries to his senior members greatly cost the team. The 2015 GOtv champions finished a disappointing tenth in the KPL campaign this season despite having spent relatively well in the previous transfer window.Harambee Stars are grouped alongside Rwanda, Tanzania, Libya and minnows Zanzibar in the ten-team bonanza. They will take on Rwanda in their opening match on December 3.
