Kenya Premier League (KPL) side Bandari FC head coach Ken Odhiambo has revealed that his charges are far from ready for the upcoming 2018 season despite an impressive run in the ongoing Kariobangi Sharks pre-season tournament in Nairobi.

The Dockers were  3-2 winners against the hosts in thier opening match on Wednesday before squeezing a narrow 1-0 win against Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) FC on Thursday.

However, Odhiambo who was elevated to the position following the sacking of Paul Nkata downplayed the victories maintaining that the team is not prepared yet.

"It's a sign of good things to come. The scorers in our first match were midfielders which shows that we have an all-round team and not just a group of individuals. However, we are not there despite the good results. We are about 70 per cent ready. We are lagging behind by two weeks si we will taje it gradually because it's a process," he said.

Bandari had a disappointing campaign in the 2017 season where they finished a distant tenth with 43 points from 34 outings, a situation Odhiambo is keen to avoid.

"Every coach wants to perform and I am not different. I don't want to state our specific target because in the past we have talked about it and failed to achieve it. We want the results to speak for us once the league gets underway," he added.

Bandari begins their title campaign away to Sofapaka on February 4.
