Bandari FC has roped in Tanzanian striker Fred Cosmas to replace the departing Dan Sserunkuma, coach Paul Nkata has confirmed.
According to the former Tusker FC coach, Cosmas joins the Mombasa-based side on a one-year deal, a move aimed at bolstering their depleted squad to meet the demands of the intense KPL second leg.The former Gor Mahia talisman joined Bandari in January 2016 after a stint with Tanzanian giants Simba SC and Armenian side Ulisses. In total, the Ugandan striker scored eight goals for Bandari.During his first season with the Dockers, Sserunkuma scored five goals as he struggled for form that once made him one of the most feared strikers in the league. His other three goals have come this season."Sadly we have parted ways with Dan Sserunkuma but I am glad we already have a replacement in Fred Cosmas. Apart from Sserunkuma, Musa Mudde also left but we have Baron Oketch to our ranks. We are still in the market for not more than two players since we have to maintain the team that did duty in the first leg," Nkata said."We don't expect any more departures but you can't rule that out. All we want is to ensure that we start the second leg strongly just as we did when the season started," he added.Bandari next play Tusker FC in their match day 15 after a barren stalemate against Western Stima last weekend.
