Bandari FC assistant coach Ken Odhiambo has criticised the wrangles pitting the Football Kenya Federation and the Kenya Premier League that has led to delays in the league kick-off.
According to Odhiambo, the wrangling has adversely affected the team's training programme."As coaches, we normally have a training programme that is time bound but once the league kick-off is delayed, we are forced to introduce new ideas in training which might be counterproductive," said Odhimabo, as quoted by soka.co.ke.Odhiambo, who was speaking after the team's 1-0 win against Modern Coast Rangers in a pre-season friendly over the weekend, said the team was forced to play friendly matches not in their programme, which have resulted in injuries. The tactician claimed that players prefer playing competitive matches to friendly ties.Odhiambo's sentiments come barely a week after AFC Leopards chairman raised the same concerns over the league kick-off.The league kick-off date remains unknown with both FKF and KPL still engaged in a tug of war with the bone of contention being the number of teams to play in the league.
