After knocking out Gor Mahia in the round of 32 of the GOTV Shield Cup to qualify for the next round, Bandari FC coach Paul Nkata is keen to make history by becoming the first tactician to win GOTV back-to-back with two different clubs having led Tusker FC to glory in 2016.
Bandari FC overcame stubborn Gor Mahia 6-5 in a penalty shootout to book their place in the next round where they will play fellow Kenya Premier League side Nakumatt FC where they will be hoping to storm into the quarter finals.
While speaking to Capital Sports, the former Muhoroni Youth coach exuded confidence that he can repeat his last season's success with the Mombasa-based side this year.
"We can't say much about that at the moment, but we are just taking one match at a time.It is a difficult tournament, but it is something that we can do. We have a good team and having beaten a side like Gor Mahia which is very strong, anything is possible," Nkata said.
The next round of the GOTV Shield Cup matches has been slated for July 23.
