The government will resettle more than 1, 000 residents of Mukutano who were driven from their homes by insecurity, Devolution Cs Mwangi Kiunjuri has said.

The residents, now in a tented village in Marigat, fled from their homes in March.

During his visit to Eldume camp on Thursday, Kiunjuri said the department of special programmes will provide each of the 147 households with 30 iron sheets and timber to build houses.

He said the government will beef up security in the region to end bandits attacks.

"No one will die from hunger since the government will supply more relief food to hunger strike families," he said.
