Suspected Pokot bandits Wednesday attacked a school in Kerio Valley and sprayed classrooms with bullets, forcing teachers and pupils to scamper for safety.

The bandits also made away with unknown number of cattle.

Wilson Cherop, St Mary’s Mon Deputy Principal, said the teachers locked themselves in the staff room while the students lay on the floor to dodge the bullets.

“They have driven off all the school livestock,” Mr Cherop told the Nation.

IEBC officials who were registering voters at the school also scampered for safety as heavy gunshots rent the air.
