Kisumu County Bodaboda operators have been challenged to open Bank Accounts that would aid them in saving their daily income for proper investments.

Kenya Commercial Bank Operations Manager Joseph Wanjala was speaking on Wednesday to a group of Bodaboda operators in RIAT Institute of Technology at a forum meant to educate them on the importance of bank account opening and money saving.

Wanjala noted that through account opening and money saving, the Bodaboda operators would be exposed to money safeguarding, promote proper usage on their daily income by not being spendthrift and get access to bank loans from banks.

He noted that through bank accounts saving, especially saving account, the Bodaboda operators would benefit from financial advice on how to spend their money by the bankers, to enable them come up with investment plans.

“We need to open Bank Accounts to save as little as Sh50 daily and maximum of one’s reach,” noted Wanjala.

The Bank Account Opening Officer Elias Ogutu also challenged the locals to open account stating that it was a safer and proper way to save and plan on how to use money depending on what bank account they intend to open.
