Independent Presidential candidate Prof Michael Wainaina has told youth to vote for him on August 8.
Wainaina said youth constitute the largest part of the population yet they make up the biggest fraction of the population that is unemployed.
He said his government, if elected president on August 8 will focus at establishing skills development centres where young people will nurture talent and pursue their dreams in the sports and entertainment industry.
“I want to tell the youth in this country that in whichever platform I will be after August 8, I will fight to ensure their voices are heard and they are not neglected,” he said.
Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission data indicates that out of the over 19 million registered voters, more than nine million are youth.
“We need a new vision and direction. Young people have an appointment with the future.”
