Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) kept alive their hope of defending their title, after winning their seventh successive match in the current rugby season. 

The defending champions are currently top of the pile of the Kenya Cup Rugby league with 34 points. 

The champions hammered Kenya Harlequins 43-17 in a one-sided affair, played at the Ruaraka Grounds. 

Peter Karia gave the bankers the first try, with Mukidza converting to a 7 point lead. Mukidza added three points a few moments later, after an infringement to give the champions a 10-0 lead.

KCB went into the break leading 22-0, after quick-fire tries from Darwin Mukidza and Peter Waitere.Michael Wanjala and Martin Owila combined to set up Curtis Lilako for the unconverted try as KCB led 29-0 before Isaac Adimo scored for Quins to bring it to 29-5.

Kabras Sugar, who like KCB are unbeaten in their first seven matches are in second place and tightened the grip after a 33-17 win over Impala Saracens at the Impala Club in Nairobi.

There are four matches remaining before the teams take part in the top six play-offs.
