Kisii hotel owners, bar owners and preachers have been warned against playing loud music without regulating their volume.
According to NEMA Kisii County directory, Samson Bokea, he accused them of playing music at loud volumes without thinking of the people they are affecting.
Bokea who was speaking at the Gusii Cultural Hall on Thursday during the Kisii stakeholders’ consultation forum ahead of the investors summit where he cautioned them by saying that legal action would be taken against them if they did not regulate their volumes.
“The noise from clubs and bars has been disrupting the town, more so, in the night. We advise the owners to regulate the volume which comes from their places,” said Bokea.
He also cautioned preachers who usually play loud music from churches without being considerate of people in their surroundings.
“It is unfortunate that you have a preacher with four church members who does not even need loud music but chooses to make so much noise inconveniencing other people,’’ he said.
The director advised them to play their music at a reasonable volume or stop playing it all at once.
