The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) is calling on political parties to charge and bar politicians from vying for any elective seat if found inciting youth to violence.

NCIC Commissioner Prof. Gitile Naituli says the commission has a mandate to tame hate speech and other chaos inciting utterances to ensure peace prevails as the country heads to elections.

While condemning the recent chaos experienced in Gatundu South where a former MP was attacked by youth affiliated to the incumbent Moses Kuria, Naituli said the commission has taken the necessary measures to ensure there is peace during this electioneering period.

Nominated MP Isaac Mwaura who is seeking the Ruiru parliamentary seat, called for free and fair nominations to ensure peace prevails and cited the incident at Busia where the battle for the ODM ticket led to chaos.

They were speaking in Ruiru sub-county during sponsored a football tournament meant to sensitize the youth to maintain peace.
