A Thika court on Thursday fined a bar operator Sh30,000 for operating without a license.
Jennifer Mueni was convicted and sentenced by Senior Principal Magistrate Martha Mutuku.
The prosecutor told the court that police were tipped off, that the accused was operating and selling liquor without a licence.
The court heard that the police raided the bar and arrested the accused on October 26, 2014 at Kiandutu slums.
The accused pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined Sh30,000 or three months imprisonment.
In the same court, a man was fined Sh30,000 or four months imprisonment after he was found guilty of using abuse language.
Joseph waititu was convicted and sentenced by area Resident Magistrate Walter Onchuru, after the court heard that he insulted his former girlfriend.
The accused admitted to committing the offence on October 28, at Super Mamba pub in Muguga, Kiambu County.
The court was told that the complainant, Kezia Wairimu reported the matter to the police who then arrested Waititu.
