Bar owners in Kisii town and its environs got themselves on the wrong side of the law after they were found operating against stipulated time.
The operation which took a whole night was led by Kisii OCPD Richard Mwangi and County NACADA representative Daniel Oyier.
Majority of those who were nabbed were found operating without valid licenses while others were found operating before and past stipulated time.
Mwangi said that they carried the crackdown after members of public has raised alarm about bars which start operating as early as 6am.
The operation comes barely few weeks after the police has carried out another operation whose target was illegal brew makers.
Daniel Oyier said they have noted the complaints, thus they will continue conducting impromptu operations to restore law and order.
“We will carry out inspection in various centers to arrest the culprits as the trend of operating illegal bars and selling liquor at wrong time is perpetuating alcohol abuse in the county,” said the Oyier.
