A task force has been established to ensure that bars in Mombasa County do not sell counterfeit alcohol during this festive season. Addressing journalists on Monday, Mombasa County Commissioner Evans Achoki said the team is expected to conduct a crackdown on bars selling adulterated alcohol to residents in the Coastal city.Achoki said that the government is committed to protecting the welfare of both locals and visitors during this festive period. The county commissioner said stern action will be taken against bar owners found culpable.“We have set up a team that will raid the alcoholic outlets to ensure Kenyans drink safe alcohol, and that Kenyans are not sold to counterfeit alcohol,” said Achoki, as quoted by Baraka FM.Achoki also assured residents as well as the local and international tourists flocking the region ahead of the festive season of their security.He said several police officers have already been deployed in the county to prevent criminal activities.
