Baringo governor Benjamin Cheboi among other three area legislatures faced the full wrath of members of the public at a rally attended by Deputy president William Ruto, Saturday.
Cheboi, Woman Representative Grace Kiptui, MPs Moses Lessonet (Eldama Ravine), and Hellen Sambili (Mogotio) were booed by residents when they took to the stage to speak at Eldama Ravine grounds.
According to the residents, the leaders were yet to performe well in the last four years they were in power.
"We have no issues with Jubilee but these leaders. They are stuck in Nairobi while we are suffering down here," said one of the resident.
Residents said the politicians had failed to address key issues in the region such as water shortage, poor roads and poor healthcare systems.
Stanley Kiptis, who has declared interest to unseat Cheboi seemed to be enjoying a support as the crowd applauded him.
Chants of 'We don't want Cheboi! We want Kiptis!' filled the air as the governor tried to persuade the crowd to re-elect him forcing him to cut short his speech.
Ruto asked their supporters in Rift Valley to re-elect Jubilee for a second term. He also refuted claims raised by Nasa leadership that is borrowing excessively.
He was accompanied by Keiyo South MP Jackson Kiptanui, Water CS Eugene Wamalwa, and PS Prof Fred Segor.
