The nurses have accused their branch executive secretary Francis Koros of boycotting the ongoing strike, leaving them helpless.

They  said Francis Koros has not been updating them on which  direction  to take on the progress of their industrial action. Koros is alleged to have  gone to further his studies.

"Koros has boycotted the strike. He has not even been joining us in meetings. Instead, he has chosen to concentrate on his further studies," the Star reported on Wednesday.

Francis Koros  through a phone conversation with The Star said he was held up with the studies, he is waiting for the national office to give direction on the strike.

"The problem is that nurses have put so much trust in me such that if I miss even a day of meetings, they stop listening to those I assign to stand on my behalf."

But the nurses said he has not delegated his roles to anybody in the leadership.

Governor Stanley Kiptis  had earlier asked the health workers  to end their strike and resume duty or they might end up losing their jobs.

"Nurses should recall their professional ethics and be mindful of dying patients in hospitals, then call off the strike," said Kiptis.
