Residents in parts of Baringo County have started fleeing home following weekend attack that left two politicians dead.
During the Marigat area attack, an MCA and an aspiring MP in Tiaty Constituency were killed by two hooded gunmen armed with an AK47 rifle and a machete.
Two days later, another person is said to have been attacked and killed by armed by cattle rustlers, who had before the Marigat attack, attacked a Primary school and killed a teacher.
Locals now fear for their lives due to the escalating insecurity.
Men, women and children are fleeing their ancestral homes to unknown safer areas, in-fear of possible attacks.
"We are moving to unknown areas. We are going to live in bushes, hoping for security. We have been attacked and our people are dying. We can not continue staying here and wait to be killed,'' said an elderly woman.
They called on the National government's Interior and Coordination Ministry to help ensure security, by arresting persons who killed the two politicians and cattle rustlers.
However, Baringo Police Commander Peter Ndung'u assured them of their security.
"The government can provide security to everyone regardless of where they are. So it is best for them not to move from their homes since we have deployed police officers to ensure their safety,'' he said, Monday.
