Rivalry between incumbent Jubilee Party and Kanu was witnessed, Saturday, after Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago, took campaigns to Baringo county.Supporters of the area senator Gideon Moi-led Kanu stormed the event at Kabarnet High School, chanting Kanu-support slogans, as they wagged the party symbol (one finger), while those from Jubilee Party tore placards bearing Moi's image.Anti-riot police were forced to intervene, to calm the situation. When given the chance to address, Mandago who is a staunch Jubilee politician condemned the incident, saying such an incident posed a threat to security.Mandago asked Kanu leaders in the region to be ambassadors of peace, and advice their supporters to embrace peaceful coexistence, by allowing any politician to campaign, anywhere in the country. The leaders were campaigning for Jubilee Senate candidate Simon Chelugui, who asked Kanu supporters and leaders in Baringo to leave it, and back Jubilee.
Kanu has pledged support for Jubilee.
