Mumberes/Maji Mazuri ward MCA in Baringo County Peter Kimani Kagathi is dead.
According to citizentv.co.ke, Kagathi died on Wednesday morning from high blood pressure.
He had been hospitalised in a Nakuru hospital for about a month.
County Assembly Speaker Bill Kamket eulogised Kagathi saying they had lost a strong leader and promised to support the family.
His colleagues said the deceased as a leader who stood firm to defend the rights of his people.
Until his untimely death, Kagathi was chairman of the committee on Agriculture.
