Over 100 pupils of Kaptigit Primary school in Baringo North sub-county were forced to study under trees after strong winds blew off the classes' roofs on Wednesday.
The school head teacher Musa Kandagor said the area experienced strong winds after short rains.
"The strong winds occurred at around 3pm on Wednesday as the pupils were playing in the field. No one was injured," the teacher said.
"About 167 pupils have been forced to take their lessons under the trees," he noted.
Kandagor claimed that the school's mud-walled structures are old since the classes were built in 1987.
He added that the school has never presented KCPE candidates because due to the numerous challenges such teachers ask for transfers every term on grounds of poor working environment.
"Parents are forced to take their children to Marigut, Torlokwonin and Kuikui primary schools for examinations," he said.
